IKEA Presents at Wood Adhesives Conference

Last Wednesday, Johan Bruck, IKEA’s Deputy Material and Innovation Leader, spoke at the 2017 International Conference on Wood Adhesives.  The IKEA presentation titled, Current and Future Adhesive Needs of Wood Based Furniture Industry, provided an overview of the company’s activities with an emphasis on two key initiatives.  The company intends to “convert presently used adhesives systems from fossil-based to bio-based systems,” and also “continuously reduce the emission levels for formaldehyde solutions to improve that our products are safe to use by our customers.”  The Conference, held in Atlanta, Georgia from October 25-27, had a record-high attendance of 240.  There were eighty speakers and a large poster session for technical papers.  More Info: Gary Heroux
