CPA and Surface & Panel Announce Final Symposium Agenda

CPA and Surface & Panel are pleased to provide the final agenda for the Material, Technology & Design Symposium being held in conjunction with the Fall Meeting. Headlining this year’s Symposium program will be Karim Rashid, a world-renowned industrial designer who will address creativity and innovation in major composite wood markets like furniture, fixtures, and cabinets, among others.  Highlights for Monday and Tuesday’s sessions include presentations from:

  • Eric Wolff, president of the retail division of California Closets, who will speak on closet design trends and the customer focused showroom 2.0;
  • Sylvain Garneau, Chairman and CEO of Groupe Lacasse and current Board Chair of the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA), who will speak on trends in the office furniture sector; 
  • Renee Hytry-Derrington, group vice president of design at Formica, who will present on global visions and trends for the future in design;
  • A panel of experts will discuss “what’s emerging, what’s fading, what’s next” in their key market segments, including multi-family, store fixtures and the RV market. The panel includes Chris Lefeber, president of Quest Engineering; Amanda Smith, marketing director of Opto International; and Jonathan Wenger, president and CEO of Genesis Products;
  • Digital printing experts Ron Gilboa (Keypoint Intelligence/Info Trends) and Don Kuser (NAPLY), who will speak to the future of this technology in the composite panel market; and
  • Expanded exhibit session with a record number of companies participating.  

The CPA Fall Meeting program will include Ray Prozzillo, President and CEO of A&M Supply and Board Chair of the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA), speaking to CPA members at Monday’s General Session on distribution trends for the composite panel market.  The Production-Technical Committee includes a presentation from Ashley Goodin, Technical Services Manager of the Architectural Woodwork Institute.
