Consumer Sentiment Falls in September

The U.S. consumer sentiment index for September fell to 95.3 points from August’s reading of 97.6, according to the University of Michigan’s Survey of Consumers. Overall, the index was up 4.5% when compared to the same period in 2016. Consumer expectations in September fell 4.9% from the previous month to 82.7, but rose 0.8% in a year-over-year comparison.
