U.S. Postpones Canadian Antidumping Ruling

The U.S. Department of Commerce has postponed the deadline to issue a final ruling on antidumping and countervailing duties for Canadian softwood lumber to November 14.  The two-month delay comes after Canada’s disagreement with preliminary countervailing duties imposed by the U.S. in April, taxing as much as 24% on Canadian imports. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has cited the complexity of the matter as one of the reasons for the postponement. See Woodworking Network and U.S. Department of Commerce
