Consumer Confidence at Second Highest Level Since 2000

U.S. consumer confidence in August reached its second highest point since 2000, according to the Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence Survey.  The consumer confidence index rose 2.9 points in August to 122.9. The present conditions measure rose 5.8 points to 151.2, compared to its high in July 2001. The consumer expectations gauge rose 1 point to 104. See Bloomberg and Conference Board
