U.S. Construction Spending Down in June
U.S. construction spending during June was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.205 trillion, 1.3% below the revised May estimate, and 1.6% above the comparable month in 2016. Year-to-date spending amounted increased 4.8% from the year ago period to $577 billion.
Private construction spending in June fell 0.1% to $940.7 billion, with residential levels down 0.2% to $502.9 billion and nonresidential up 0.1% to $437.8 billion from May. See U.S. Census Bureau
