U.S. Housing Starts Increase in June

U.S. housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.22 million, up 8.3% above the revised May estimate and 2.1% higher than the comparable month last year. Single-family housing starts rose 6.3% from May to 849,000.

U.S. building permits in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.25 million, rising 7.4% above May and 5.1% higher than the same month in 2016. Single-family authorizations increased 4.1% from May to 811,000.  See U.S. Census Bureau
