U.S. Construction Stays Steady in March

U.S. construction spending during March was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.218 trillion, 0.2% below the revised February estimate, but 3.6% above the comparable month in 2016.

Private construction spending in March stayed nearly the same as February’s revised estimate of $940 billion, with residential levels up 1.2% to $503.4 billion and nonresidential down 1.3% to $436.8 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
