Manufacturers Outlook Reaches Record High for Q1 2017

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) issued its 2017 First Quarter Manufacturers Outlook Survey late last week, recording a 20-year record high for manufacturer optimism in the U.S.  According to the Survey, 93.3% of manufacturers are either “somewhat or very positive” about their company’s outlook, up significantly from 56.6% one year ago.  NAM also adjusted its Manufacturer’s Outlook Index from 53.1% in December to 63.7%.  NAM President Jay Timmons presented the results to Donald Trump in person and indicated that the shift in sentiment is due to widespread support for the Administration’s commitment to tax reform, regulatory relief and infrastructure investment that can help boost U.S. manufacturing.  See NAM Survey.  More Info: Jackson Morrill
