U.S. Housing Starts Fall

U.S. housing starts in November were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.1 million, down 18.7% from the October estimate, and 6.9% below the comparable month in 2015.  Single-family starts decreased 4.1% to 828,000.

Building permits in November were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.2 million, falling from October by 4.7%, and were 6.6% lower than the same period a year ago. Single-family authorizations rose 0.5% from October to 778,000.  See U.S. Census Bureau
