Mexico Manufacturing Improves in February

The seasonally adjusted IHS Markit Mexico Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in February improved by 1.9 points from January to 48.0, though still in contraction. Business confidence improved from January’s record low, but manufacturers continued to report scarcity issues, decreased orders and lingering pandemic issues.

The PMI index is composed of five sub-indices tracking changes in new orders, output, employment, suppliers’ delivery times and stocks of raw materials. A reading above 50 indicates growth.  See IHS Markit
