Canadian building permits in May fell 14.8% from April to $9.46 billion (CAD) but rose 22.0% from the year-ago period. Residential authorizations declined 16.0% from April to $6.47 billion but were 26.7% higher than May 2020. Single-family totals decreased to $3.18 billion, down 10.6% from April but increased 63.5% from the prior year.
