U.S. residential furniture factory orders in March were $2.19 billion, up 1.5% from the comparable month last year and mostly unchanged from February. Year-to-date new orders increased 4.4% compared to the first quarter of 2023.
Furniture shipments declined 17.5% from March 2023 to $2.24 billion and decreased 3.6% from February. Backlogs were $2.64 billion, shrinking 17.0% from March 2023 but rose 2.0% from the prior month. See Smith Leonard
