March U.S. Construction Up Slightly

U.S. construction spending in March was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.51 trillion, up 0.2% from February and 5.3% higher than the year prior.  Private construction spending increased 0.7% from February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.17 trillion.  Residential levels for March rose 1.7% from the previous month to $725.2 billion and non-residential totals decreased 0.9% from February to $444.0 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
