March U.S. Architectural Billings Remain Soft

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) increased 0.4 points to 49.8 in March but remained below 50, marking 17 straight months of industry contraction. Every region remained below 50, except the West, which rose 1.3 points to 50.6 in March. All three sectors reported growth with scores above 50 and Institutional posting the highest at 52.6.
