June U.S. Furniture Orders Decline

U.S. residential furniture factory orders in June were $2.10 billion, down 6.5% from the comparable month last year and 5.8% lower than May. Year-to-date new orders increased 0.8% compared to the first six months of 2023.

Furniture shipments decreased 8.0% from last June to $2.21 billion and dipped 0.8% from May. Backlogs were $2.63 billion, shrinking 6.7% from June 2023 and 2.1% from the prior month. See Smith Leonard
