U.S. construction spending in June reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $2.17 trillion, decreasing 0.1% from May and 3.2% year-over-year.
Total public and private residential spending declined 0.3% month-over-month and 4.7% from June 2025 to $889.37 billion. Non-residential spending totaled $1.28 trillion, 0.1% higher than May but down 2.1% from the same month last year. Private construction spending fell 0.1% from May and 4.7% from June 2025 to $1.62 trillion.
Educational construction spending was $137.66 billion, 0.3% below the prior month and dipping 0.6% from June 2025. Healthcare construction spending edged up 0.2% from May but shrank 1.5% year-over- year to $74.81 billion. Commercial construction spending totaled $121.25 billion, dropping 1.2% from May and 5.9% from the comparable month last year. See U.S. Census Bureau
