June Canadian Building Permits Decrease

Canadian building permits in June dropped 1.5% from May to $11.9 billion (CAD) but were 13.4% higher than the year-ago period.  Residential authorizations grew 3.1% from May to $8.2 billion and increased 13.8% from June 2021.  Single-family totals reached $3.8 billion, down 0.6% from May but up 9.7% from the prior year.  Multi-family levels rose 6.5% from May to $4.5 billion and surged 17.6% from the previous year.  See Statistics Canada
