U.S. housing starts in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.43 million, up 5.2% from the revised June figure and 12.9% from the comparable month last year. Single-family starts increased 2.8% from June to 939,000.
U.S. building permits in July were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.35 million, decreasing 2.8% from June and 5.7% from the same month in 2024. Single-family authorizations grew 0.5% from June to 870,000 in July. See U.S. Census Bureau
