U.S. residential furniture factory orders in July were $1.92 billion, down 5.0% from the comparable month last year and 8.4% lower than June. Year-to-date new orders increased 1.4% compared to the first seven months of 2023.
Furniture shipments increased 5.5% from last July to $2.06 billion but fell 7.0% from June. Backlogs were $2.55 billion, shrinking 11.0% from July 2023 and 2.8% from the prior month. See Smith Leonard
