July U.S. Consumer Confidence Improves

U.S. consumer confidence registered at 97.2 in July, up two points from the adjusted June reading, according to The Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. The index measuring current business and labor market conditions declined 1.5 points in July to 131.5. The short-term outlook index for the income, business, and labor markets increased 4.5 points from June to 74.4, remaining below the 80-mark for the sixth straight month, indicating a potential recession.
