July Architectural Billings Maintain Growth at Lower Rate

The July Architecture Billings Index (ABI) fell 2.2 points to 51.0 according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score above 50 indicates growth in billings. Design contracts increased marginally from 52.2 in June to 52.9.

July billings were in positive territory for all geographic regions except the Northeast which saw a 0.3-point decline to 48.4. Firms with a commercial/industrial or residential specialization reported growth in monthly billings while institutional saw 3.9-point decrease to 49.6. See AIA
