The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) decreased 0.6 points to 46.2 in July, while design contracts rose 1.9 points to 47.9. Project inquiries exceeded 50 for the third consecutive month, but billings remained below 50 in all sectors and regions for the sixth straight ABI, suggesting difficulties converting queries.
