The Interior Design Billings Index (IDBI), derived from a survey of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) member-owned firms, rose 1.2 points from June to 52.3 in August, the second straight month of growth and the highest score since October 2019. Any score over 50 indicates growth. Indexes for all geographic regions grew in July, but all regions remained in negative growth territory.
The index measuring inquiries in July jumped 7.5 points from July to 58.2, indicating growth and the highest reading since July 2019. Designers reversed a poor outlook for the future, with the six-month outlook rebounding 18.9 points to 58.1. Billings for all geographic regions remained in contraction except for the South which increased 7.4 points to 52.7 in August. See ASID
