IKEA parent company, Ingka Group, recently announced the purchase of 3,264 acres of land in Florida for an ongoing afforestation project, growing trees in an area damaged by Hurricane Michael in 2018. The company will plant 650,000 trees in the first rotation of a 40-year cycle. When combined with previously owned acreage across several southeastern states, the Ingka Group now owns over 137,000 acres of U.S. forestland. See Furniture Today
