The recently released Q3 2021 Houzz Renovation Barometer proved that the confidence for renovation activity remained strong following a robust second quarter. The Barometer tracks residential renovation market expectations and recent business activity in the construction and architectural design services industries.
Within the construction sector, the Expected Business Activity Indicator for the third quarter rose 3 points from Q2 to 76 while the Project Backlog Indicator jumped 1.5 weeks to 10.8 weeks compared to Q2. The Recent Business Activity Indicator jumped 9 points to 82 in the third quarter.
Within the architectural and design sector, the Expected Business Activity Indicator for Q3 fell 4 points from Q2 to 70 while the Project Backlog Indicator decreased to 7.2 weeks. Compared to Q2, the Recent Business Activity Indicator declined 3 points to 72.
The Houzz Renovation Barometer is an online quarterly survey sent to U.S. businesses with a Houzz profile. The survey garnered responses from 1,361 home-improvement businesses from June 27 through July 7. See Houzz
