Houzz Q2 Renovation Barometer Published

The Q2 2024 Houzz Renovation Barometer report for both the construction and architectural and design sectors signaled improvements. The Barometer tracks residential renovation market expectations and recent business activity in the construction and architectural design services industries.

Within the construction sector, the Expected Business Activity Indicator for the second quarter increased one point from Q1 to 58, while the Project Backlog Indicator was 6.5 weeks, down from 11.9 weeks in Q2 2023. The Recent Business Activity Indicator declined three points from Q4 2023 to 45 in Q1.

Within the architectural and design sectors, the Q2 Expected Business Activity Indicator fell eight points from Q1 to 58. The Project Backlog Indicator was 5.6 weeks at the beginning of Q2, a decrease of 0.5 weeks from the year-ago period, and the Recent Business Activity Indicator dipped one point to 53 in Q1.
