Houzz Q1 Renovation Barometer Published

The Q1 2025 Houzz Renovation Barometer reports for both the construction and architectural and design sectors signaled growth. The Barometer tracks residential renovation market expectations and recent business activity in the construction and architectural design services industries.

Within the construction sector, the first quarter Expected Business Activity Indicator rose three points from Q4 2024 to 65, while the Project Backlog Indicator was 5.8 weeks, 0.9 weeks lower than Q1 2024. The Recent Business Activity Indicator improved seven points from Q3 2024 to 54 in Q4.

The Q1 2025 Expected Business Activity Indicator decreased three points from Q4 2024 to 68 within the architectural and design sectors. The Project Backlog Indicator was 7.3 weeks at the beginning of Q1 2025, 2.1 weeks more than the year-ago period, and the Recent Business Activity Indicator rose four points to 58 in Q4 2024.

The Houzz Renovation Barometer results are determined by an online quarterly survey of U.S. architects and designers with a Houzz account.
