Hotel Construction Pipeline at Record High in U.S.

The second quarter 2024 U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report by Lodging Econometrics reported record-breaking figures, with hotel projects totaling 6,095 with 713,151 rooms, increasing 9.4% and 8.0%, respectively, over the same period in 2023. Projects in the early planning stages rose 13.0% from Q2 2023 to 2,574 with 297,162 rooms. Lodging Economics is forecasting hotel openings will grow 35% over 2023 by the end of 2024.
