Home Improvement Retailers Post Q2 Sales and Earnings

The world’s two largest home improvement retailers published financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026.

­­­­­The Home Depot, Atlanta, GA, reported second quarter, which ended August 2, net sales were $47.9 billion, up 5.7% over the comparable period in 2025. Net earnings rose 4.7% to $4.8 billion when compared to Q2 of fiscal year 2025. Year-to-date net earnings rose 0.9% to $8.0 billion over the first six months of 2025. The Lowe’s Companies, Mooresville, NC, published second-quarter results, which ended July 31, with net sales of $26.0 billion, 8.3% higher than Q2 2025. Net earnings were $2.4 billion, mostly unchanged from second quarter last year. Net earnings the first six months of 2026 were level with 2025 at $4.0 billion.
