Growing Climate Solutions Act Introduced in Senate

This week, Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Mike Braun (R-IN) introduced the Growing Climate Solutions Act.  This bipartisan legislation would create a U.S. Department of Agriculture certification program to help eliminate the challenges preventing forest owners and farmers from participating in potential carbon credit markets due to cost and access to reliable market information and technical expertise. One of the key objectives of the law would be to provide landowners with additional incentives to more productively manage farms and forests that support agricultural and wood products markets while providing them with an additional carbon-related revenue stream.  A press release announcing the legislation is available online.
