U.S. residential furniture factory orders in January decreased 12% from the comparable month in 2021 but rose 27% from the same period in 2020. In January, 55% of participants reported increases.
Furniture shipments dropped 3% from January 2021 but were 7% higher than 2020. With new orders still outpacing shipments, backlogs climbed 43% from January 2021. See Smith Leonard
