Fourth quarter 2023 U.S. wood product manufacturing sales decreased 11.3% from Q3 2023 to $25.8 billion and fell 14.7% from the same period in 2022. After-tax profits declined 53.8% to $1.3 billion from the prior three months and were 45.8% lower than Q4 2022.
Furniture sales were down 12.0% from Q3 to $17.0 billion and 16.2% from Q4 2022. After-tax profits in Q4 plummeted 65.5% from the third quarter to $487 million but grew 26.8% from the same quarter in 2022. See U.S. Census Bureau
