U.S. housing starts in February were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.45 million, growing 9.8% from January but 18.4% lower than the comparable month last year. Single-family starts rose 1.1% from January to 830,000.
U.S. building permits in February were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.52 million, increasing 13.8% from January but falling 17.9% from February 2022. Single-family authorizations were up 7.6% from January to 722,000 in February. See U.S. Census Bureau
