U.S. housing starts in February were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.50 million, increasing 11.2% from January but 2.9% lower than the comparable month in 2024. Single-family starts rose 11.4% to 1.11 million in February.
U.S. building permits were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.46 million, declining 1.2% from January and 6.8% from February 2024. Single-family authorizations were 0.2% lower than January at 992,000. See U.S. Census Bureau
