February Canadian Manufacturing Improves

In February, the seasonally adjusted S&P Global Canada Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) was 51.0, increasing 0.6 points from January and marking the highest reading in over a year. Manufacturers reported growth in employment and a rise in new orders for the first time since January 2025.

The PMI index comprises five sub-indices tracking changes in new orders, output, employment, suppliers’ delivery times, and stocks of raw materials. A reading above 50 indicates growth. See S&P Global
