February Architectural Billings Index Remains Below 50

The February Architecture Billings Index (ABI) dropped 1.3 points to 48, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score above 50 indicates growth in billings, while a score below 50 means a drop in firm billings. Design contracts shrank from 53.4 in January to 51.3.

February billings were below 50 in all geographic regions except the west. Firms across all sectors continue to experience a decline in billings, with the commercial/industrial industry having the most significant decrease at 45.8. See AIA
