The European Panel Federation this week sent a formal letter to the EU Commission requesting that wood-based panels be excluded from the list of products subject to tariffs as a countermeasure to those imposed by the U.S. EPF recommends a “zero- to-zero” tariff approach to EU-U.S. trade. If the EU Commission decides to include panels in its list of reciprocal tariffs, a 25% duty would be levied on U.S. panel imports to the EU.
Currently, imports of lumber and other wood products (including panels) from the EU are exempt from U.S. reciprocal tariffs. See EPF Letter
