Last week, the European Parliament (EP) voted in favor of pursuing simplification measures to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), including a one-year delay in implementation to December 30, 2026, and a formal simplification review by April 30, 2026. Similar positions were previously taken by the European Commission (EC) and by the European Council.
The EP, EC, and Council will now need to negotiate and publish the amended regulation prior to December 30, 2025, when the EUDR is scheduled to enter into force. See EP Press Release and European Council Press Release. More Info: Kevin Warkentin
