EPA Publishes Proposed Amendments to the Plywood and Composite Wood Products Regulations

On May 18, the U.S. EPA published the proposed amendments to the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Plywood and Composite Wood Products (PCWP) facilities in the Federal Register. The proposal includes new emission limits and work practices for hazardous air pollutants from various process units at new and existing sources. Comments on the proposal are due by July 3, although CPA and others have requested an extension to the comment deadline. CPA is currently working with its coalition partners on developing comments. The EPA is holding a virtual public meeting on June 2 to allow stakeholders to present comments and information on the proposal. The EPA is under a court-ordered deadline to publish a final rule by November 16, 2023. See PCWP NESHAP Amendments. More Info: Kevin Warkentin
