December U.S. Architectural Billings Increase

The December 2021 Architecture Billings Index (ABI) increased one point from November to 52.0 according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score below 50 indicates a decline in billings. Design contracts stayed even with November at 55.8.

December billings were in positive territory for only the South and Midwest, while the Northeast experienced its fourth consecutive month of declines. Firms of all specializations saw readings fall into negative territory in December.  See AIA
