December Canadian Retail Furniture Sales Improve

Canadian seasonally adjusted retail furniture store sales in December 2024 increased 0.5% from November to $1.18 billion (CAD) but were 0.4% lower than the same month in 2023. Sales for building material dealers grew 2.4% from November to $3.85 billion and were up 0.9% from the same period the year prior. Total Canadian retail sales for the month were $69.59 billion, climbing 2.5% from November and 3.9% from December 2023.
