The Architecture Billings Index (ABI) rose 0.1 point to 45.4 in December 2023, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. Design contracts improved 1.9 points from November 2023 to 50. A score above 50 indicates growth.
December billings were below 50 in all geographic regions except the Midwest, which had a score of 50.3. Commercial/Industrial and Institutional sectors were below 50 for the fifth straight month. See AIA
