CPA Submits Comments on Canadian 2025 Pre-Budget Consultation

The Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance (FINA) recently sought input during its annual pre-budget consultation process on priorities for the 2025 federal budget. CPA submitted a brief highlighting four recommendations for the government’s consideration, including dedicated funding for sector capital projects and decarbonization initiatives, credit creation opportunities for carbon sequestered in harvested wood products, stimulating broader market acceptance of wood products in both the public and private sectors, and enforcing the Canadian Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products Regulations (CANFER) on imported products.
