CPA has started reviewing several American National Standards Institute (ANSI) hardboard and engineered wood siding and trim standards. On March 14, 2025, ANSI gave the general public notice through its Project Initiation Notice System (PINS) of CPA’s intention to update the following association-sponsored standards: ANSI A135.4-(R2020) Basic Hardboard, ANSI A135.5-(R2020) Prefinished Hardboard Paneling, ANSI A135.6-(R2020) Engineered Wood Siding, and ANSI A135.7-(R2020) Engineered Wood Trim Standards.
CPA uses ANSI Essential Requirements procedures for developing consensus standards requiring a balanced representation of producers, users, and individuals with a general interest to engage in the process.
