CPA is pleased to announce publication of the newly updated “Standard Method for Measurement of Warp in Composite Panels.” The purpose of this voluntary CPA test method is to create a standardized methodology for measuring and communicating the degree of warp present in particleboard, medium density fiberboard (MDF) and laminated panels. Warp tolerances are generally negotiated between the panel manufacturer and purchaser, except for particleboard stair tread, which is governed by a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development product code.
Highlights of the updated test method include elimination of the measurement of twist, incorporation of laminated panels, enhanced illustrative graphics of bow and cup, and improved ease of use by moving several technical footnotes into the main text. This revision supersedes the July 2016 version. See Standard Method for Measurement of Warp in Composite Panels. More Info: Gary Heroux
