CPA Joins U.S. Forest Service Agreement on Forest and Wood Product Carbon

Last week, CPA became a signatory to a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities. The MOA primarily focuses on creating a digital platform that will contain forest and wood product carbon data throughout the value chain. Using a whole building lifecycle approach, the data will be used to quantify embodied and embedded carbon in wood products and in wood product applications, such as commercial and residential structures. The data will also be made available for other purposes, including creating environmental product declarations. CPA joined several wood products sectors as partners, including the Hardwood Federation, the American Wood Council, and the National Alliance of Forest Owners. The project will be formally initiated this summer and the Agreement expires December 31, 2033. See MOA. More Info: Andy O’Hare
