Comments Submitted on Proposed Amendments to PCWP Regulations

On July 18, CPA and an American Wood Council (AWC)-led coalition of wood products associations submitted comments to the U.S. EPA on the proposed amendments to the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Plywood and Composite Wood Products (PCWP) facilities. The proposed amendments include new emission limits and work practices for hazardous air pollutants from various process units at new and existing sources. The comments support some aspects of the proposed amendments, such as using work practice standards instead of numerical limits for several covered sources and pollutants and otherwise seek improvements to the proposal to reduce the regulatory burden and associated compliance costs. The EPA is under a court-ordered deadline to publish a final rule by November 16, 2023. See EPA and AWC Coalition PCWP Proposal Comments. More Info: Kevin Warkentin
