Canadian Retail Furniture Sales Down

Canadian seasonally adjusted retail furniture store sales in August decreased 3.2% from last month to $1.12 billion (CAD) and were 5.6% lower than the same month in 2023. Sales for building material dealers dipped 0.5% from July to $3.70 billion and were down 5.0% from the same period a year ago. Total Canadian retail sales in August were $66.63 billion, growing 0.4% from July and 1.4% from August 2023.
