Canadian Retail Furniture Sales Dip in May

Canadian seasonally adjusted retail furniture store sales in May declined 1.5% from April to $1.15 billion (CAD) but were 0.1% higher than the same month in 2023. Sales for building material dealers decreased 2.7% from April to $3.75 billion, falling 3.0% from May 2023. Total Canadian retail sales in May shrunk 0.8% from the prior month to $66.13 billion and increased 1.0% from the year-ago period.
